The Mystery of the
Marlborough Downs
Part 2
Leys and Circular
Leys
Most people consider leys to be straight
alignments yet set out over the Marlborough Downs in Wiltshire, England
is a vast twin circle pattern made up of a number of significant sites
that includes the Avebury henge, the East Kennett long barrow, various
earthworks and a variety of church sites.
These twin "ley" circles
are of identical size, each with a radius of a fraction under six
miles or 9.570 km.
This ratio has a resonance with the size of
the Earth for the circles are almost exactly 1/666 of the Earth's equatorial
circumference.
