Exploring some of the most significant sacred sites of the British Isles

Trip Details

From ancient times Britain has been acknowledged as a mystic isle with unique energies that have inspired individuals throughout its history. During this special 10 day pilgrimage we will explore some of the most significant sacred sites in southern Britain. We begin and end our trip in the Malvern Hills, formed by some of the oldest rocks in Europe, over which can be found a 'Tree of Life' pattern and a range of chakric energies. We then travel to Glastonbury, rich in Arthurian tradition and the home of one of the earliest cells of Christianity in the British Isles. Our next stop takes us to Cornwall, which is rich in megalithic stone circles and also Arthurian sites. We will travel to St. Michael's Mount, which is the start point of the famous Michael alignment that crosses the country through Glastonbury and Avebury.

From Cornwall we travel to Salisbury and Stonehenge and then to spend the last part of the pilgrimage exploring the sites on the Marlborough Downs, over which can be found a vast twin circle pattern that incorporates the design of the Great Pyramid. We will celebrate the autumn equinox sunrise in this area, rich in mystery both ancient and modern. We will also visit Avebury the largest henge monument in Europe. This trip will allow participants the opportunity to experience some powerful spiritual energies to help further their inner development.

 

 

Day 1 - Collection Stansted International Airport. Minibus transport to Malvern Hills and book into b&b. Sharing and discussion on the forthcoming trip and talk on the spiritual significance of the Malvern Hills. Climb to top of Worcester Beacon (brow chakra point) for sunset meditation. (Overnight Malvern)

Day 2 - Morning exploration of some other sacred sites on the Malvern's including the Holy Well (heart chakra point) and Little Malvern Priory. After lunch drive to Glastonbury, stopping off to see Tewkesbury Abbey and Gloucester Cathedral en route. On arriving in Glastonbury we will book into b&b. (Overnight Glastonbury)

Day 3 - Exploration of the sacred sites of the Glastonbury area including visiting Chalice Well and Glastonbury Abbey. We will also visit the site of the Holy thorn and the legends that have made Glastonbury so famous. Sunset meditation at local sacred site. Evening discussion on the significance of the Glastonbury Zodiac. (Overnight Glastonbury)

Day 4 - We will spend a further day in the Glastonbury area exploring the Tor and local sacred sites. (Overnight Glastonbury)

Day 5 - Morning drive to Cornwall and book into b&b in a picturesque fishing port called Fowey. Depending upon weather conditions we will spend the afternoon walking along the cliffs or spending leisure time on the beaches. Evening sunset meditation at Castle Dore associated with Arthurian legends. (Overnight Fowey, Cornwall)

Day 6 - Morning drive to the famous site of Tintagel castle associated with Arthurian legends. After exploring the castle we will visit Merlin's cave in the cliffs below the castle. After lunch we will visit St. Nectan's Glen with it's famous waterfall and devic connections. We will then drive to Bodmin Moor to visit some of the stone circle sites and climb Rough Tor. Day 7 - Drive to St. Michael's Mount made famous for being the place where the archangel Michael made an appearance in the sixth century. This small island off the coast of Cornwall is the termination point of one of the major leylines of the country. This site can only be visited when the tide is low. During this day we will also visit St. Just-in-Roseland and beautiful church by the sea, which is the reputed place where Christ came ashore when he visited this country as a child. Return to Fowey for evening meal. (Overnight Fowey, Cornwall)

Day 8 - Early depart and drive to the cathedral city of Salisbury. En route we will visit the small Duloe stone circle, comprising of large quartz blocks. We will have lunch in Salisbury giving an opportunity to visit the famous Cathedral. In the afternoon we will visit the famous Stonehenge monument and the Old Sarum Iron age hill fort we will then drive to Marlborough and book into b&b. Evening talk on the sacred sites of the Marlborough area. (Overnight Marlborough, Wilts)

Day 9 - This day being close to the autumn equinox we will have an early morning sunrise meditation at one of the sacred sites in the Marlborough area. After late breakfast we will visit the Avebury henge, which is the largest monument of its type in the world. We will also visit the West Kennet long barrow, Silbury Hill and the church of Ogbourne St. George. All part of the sacred ancient monuments of this area which, in some cases, date back over five thousand years. This is an area rich in crop-circles during the summer months. The day will finish by a visit to temple farm the King's Chamber point of the Great Pyramid pattern that overlights this area. We will then drive to Malvern for the last night. Day 10 - Travel to Birmingham International airport and flight back to Helsinki for Finnish participants.
